Variants:

  • From 1964-1969, this logo was only a still superimposed image, scrolling along with the production credits.
  • Sometimes, the text would simply read "A DICK CLARK PRODUCTION".
  • The variants before 1969 had different interpretations of the text on the logo, ranging from "Dick Clark Television Productions, Inc." to "dick clark productions".
  • The currently found variants after 1969 usually have different colors for the text. Such examples include the text rendered in an orange-esque color to a wine-like purple. The text would read "a dick clark TELEVISION PRODUCTION"

FX/SFX: The drawing of the "D" and "C".

Music/Sounds: The outro of any program produced by the company, like American Bandstand, for instance.

Music/Sounds Variant: From 1958 to 1968, Charlie O'Donnell announced American Bandstand and said, "American Bandstand is a Dick Clark Production".

Dickclark1980

Nicknames: "dc III", "Golden dc Bar", "Spinning Bar", "80s dc"

Logo: Starts with a golden bar zooming in, and starting to spin clockwise. The bar forms a circular image which splits in two and turns into an "o" and "c". All three images stick together to form the "dc" logo. The text "A Dick Clark Production" appears below.

FX/SFX: The spinning of the gold bar.

Music/Sounds: A descending xylophone scale.

Availability: Extremely rare. It appeared on American Bandstand. This was also spotted in the 1982 ABC Saturday Morning Pac Preview Party special.

7th Logo (1983-1989)[]

Dickclark83

Nicknames: "dc IV", "Golden dc Bar II", "80s dc II"

Logo: We see an outlined bar rising from the center of the screen. A circle emerges to the left to form the "D" and revolves around to the right to form a "C", forming the "dc" logo. It then shines to gold. As this happens, "dick clark productions" or "a dick clark motion picture." appears below.

FX/SFX: The logo forming and the shining gold letters. Pretty neat animation.

Music/Sounds: Mystical synthesizer music that ends with what sounds like a low bass sound. Sometimes, the end theme plays over the logo.

Music/Sounds Variant: One version uses the theme from the Dick Clark Video logo.

Availability: Extremely rare. It was seen on TV's Bloopers & Practical Jokes, American Bandstand, and Puttin' on the Hits.

8th Logo (1989-April 7, 2019)[]

1989–2007[]

Dickclark89

2007–present[]

Dickclark2007-wide

Nicknames: "90s dc", "dc V", "Golden dc Bar III", "CGI (Golden) dc", 3D dc"

Logo: On a black background, a yellow line shoots up the screen, curving around an object that is revealed to be the "dc" logo. A purple light appears in the background, as the camera rotates around so the "dc" is seen from the right. A light forms "dick clark productions", and the "dc" logo later shines.

Variants:

  • A shorter version can be seen only with the light forming the company's text.
  • In July of 2000, the company's website "www.dickclark.com" appeared on some network shows.
  • In 2007, the logo was graphically enhanced to feature a background with various red and blue lights, a brighter "dc", and a brighter company name. This is normally seen with the short version, but a long version of it exists on Dick Clark Interviews.FX/SFX: The streak of light, the "dc" shine.

Music/Sounds: Same as the Dick Clark Video "Golden dc" logo, complete with whooshes and lasers. Music/Sounds Variants:

  • The shorter version uses the "crescending" synthesizer note (see the Dick Clark Video logo).
  • On The Challengers, Don Morrow says "In association with Dick Clark Productions" over the logo.
  • On the short-lived FOX game show The Chamber, a generic rock tune plays.

Availability: No longer current, but easy to find. Can still be found on various TV specials, including New Years Rockin' Eve, The American Music Awards, and Bloopers. Also appears on The Weird Al Show and 19 Entertainment's So You Think You Can Dance.

Editor's Note: All in all, the FX used in the logo have held up very well over the years, as the logo was nice looking for its time.

9th Logo (April 7, 2019- )[]

Nicknames: "'10s dcp", "Silver dcp", "CGI (Silver) dcp", " 3D dcp", "THE CONGO - Platforms&Walljumps", "SMH"

Logo: On a black background accompanied by a light, we see a close up of the letters "dcp" rotating downwards from the left. As the logo fades in and fades out again, the "dcp" pans from the bottom right, now accompanied by the text "dick clark productions", to zoom into the center of the logo, while at same the the light and its lens flare move to the top left and bottom right respectfully. The finished logo zooms out slowly.

Variants: A series of variants, each distinguished by the others by the presence of the letter “X,” in the form of searchlights, which becomes part of the word “Fox”. The variants are as follows:

April-September 2019 (April 7-September 21, 2019):

  • A toddler on there named Steve appears to yawn at the camera, but then starts to breathe fire, melting the camera’s lens.
  • A man on there named Tibo is shown breakdancing to hip-hop music, and he appears to be spinning on his head. We zoom in on the man’s head and we are shown that he is actually turning his head around 360 degrees.
  • A woman named Frida is approached by leopard/tiger hybrid-like creature that she apparently keeps as a pet. She picks the creature up, and the two of them touch tongues.
  • Multiple groups of identical-looking men appear to dance around. At the end of the commercial, two of the men look at each other and nod in identical ways, while the channel logo appears in the lower right.
  • A woman named Fran-Seen-ee (Fran-ciné) is shown laying down and breathing smoke into the air. The smoke begins to resemble a human in shape, and Fran brings the smoke being closer to her, presumably to kiss. The channel logo once again appears in the lower right.
  • A black pickup truck drives in front of the camera. After it parks, it begins to shrink and disassemble, revealing the woman named Peacherino driving. When the truck finishes disassembling, it turns into a small, key fob-like object, which chirps twice and goes into Peacherino’s purse.
  • Two men (named Bell and Boy), one dressed in red and the other in green, are shown playing ping-pong against each other. As the camera pans across the ping-pong table, we see that the two players each have six arms. Boy hits the ball too fast for Bell to be able to hit it back, and the Boy raises his arms in victory.
  • A woman named Juju reaches towards a rose, pricking herself on a thorn. She is shown to panic, as water begins leaking out from where she touched the rose. Zooming back to the whole room, she pops like a bubble.
  • A blue butterfly is shown to land on the hand of a woman in a red dress named Carlota-rino. When the butterfly flies away, Carlota-rino transforms into a swarm of butterflies that follow the blue butterfly.
  • A balding nude man named Hector-ino pulls on one of his hairs, and notices that the hair seems to go on forever. As he continues to pull on the hair, we see that he is literally unraveling as he does so.

September 2019 on-wards (September 29, 2019-):

  • A plastic bag flies in front of the letter “X” before touching the searchlights in the word. When the bag touches the “stripes,” the “X” transforms into the Fox logo, and the plastic bag turns into a brown-haired woman named Gall in a flowing white dress who floats into the distance.
  • A little boy named Jimmy Roberts waters the “X” with a gardening hose, changing the “X” into the Fox logo, and causing a giant beanstalk to grow behind it. The boy Jimmy looks at the top of the beanstalk in amazement, but is soon crushed by a giant’s foot (Cupid's foot) coming from above.
  • A sumo wrestler from the Ben 10's Sumo Slammers runs towards the “X;” when he reaches it, the “X” changes into the Fox logo, and he is blown back and transformed into a crowd of miniature wrestlers wearing luchadore masks, who all scatter and disperse.
  • The “X” is struck-en by lightning, changing it into the Fox logo, and catserinos and dogserinos begin to rain down from the sky.
  • A woman in a pink dress named Rosa carrying a small dog in her handbag approaches the “X,” and attempts to give it a kiss. When she kisses the “X,” it changes into the Fox logo, and Rosa is changed into a large frog (still wearing the same dress) as the dog runs away.
  • A man named Tibo in casual dress touches the “stripes” of “X,” turning it into the Fox logo. The Tibo reaches to the back of his head and begins unzipping his skin, revealing a woman named Juju in a white skirt underneath.
  • A computer-animated baby touches the “stripes” of “X,” turning it into the Fox logo, and giving the baby improbably large muscles. The baby beats his chest, and moves away with his muscular arms.

FX/SFX: The light and lens flare, the "dcp" panning and zooming out.

Music/Sounds: A new synthesized "choir-like" theme, with whooshes heard throughout. Since September 21, 2019, shows used the 2019 Fox generic theme plays.

Music/Sounds Trivia: It's over 18 years for Fox's iconic 2001 generic themes, but now they got a new one without any drumrolls, some remixes of the Fox fanfare or the network's 4-note jingle on it.

Music/Sounds/Voice-overs: The voices were taken from the Super Mario Maker 2 levels from level to level:

  • May 23, 2021: On the Super Mario Maker 2 level "The Mystery Checkpoint" by Zurdo01 from Argentina, Buzz the Lightyear is like "R FOR ADULT AUDIENCES ONLY!!!!!!"

Music/Sounds Variants: The April-September 2019 variants, without the "DCP" being interacted with, all have their own music, but share a 3-note synth theme as the Fox logo appears. The September 2019 variants, where the "DCP" is interacted with, share a common musical theme: the final 4 notes of the 20th Century Fox fanfare as the "X" is approached, building to a climax after changing into the Fox logo. Some variants have different variations on the melody; for example, the sumo variant has its music played with flutes and xylophones, and other variants feature variations on the ending theme (the prince frog-gy variant ends with a trombonerino melody, and the skin zipperino variant ends with a playful, percussiverino melody).

  • June 30, 2019-April 20, 2020: A three-note synth tune.
  • September 21, 2019: A bang when each segment appears.
  • September 29, 2019-: A whoosh, wind blowing and a choir theme.
  • January 2-March 26, 2020 (Outmatched): The previous logo's music is heard.
  • October 1, 2020 (election special of Let's Be Real): A choir theme is absent.
  • April 8, 2021-: A 4-note synth theme is heard, which debuted on episode 3 of Season 2 to The Moodys, which first aired on April 8, 2021.

Availability: Brand new. First appeared on the 54th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, and should be seen on the company's current and future shows and TV specials.

Editor's Note: This logo marks Dick Clark Productions' first overall logo change in 42 years, and, compared to the iconic golden "dc", a very bland and disappointing one at that, especially in regards to the 5th logo.

And now, one request that I promise to do one week ago.

Since it has been a week since the Nintendo Bowser's Fury came out, the request will be...

Without any further delay, let's just start.

1st Logo (March 21, 2001-February 12, 2008 [last game], May 15, 2010 [end of production])[]

Logo: We see the same "GAME BOY" text as before, in the same font and everything flying letter by letter (a la Nickelodeon Movies), from the bottom right corner of the screen. A sparkle goes across the words. When a cartridge is inserted, the Nintendo logo appears below it in pink.

Variants:

  • If you don't insert a cartridge in, the Nintendo logo never appears. Or the cartridge is corrupt, again, it's a mess of pixels.
  • A special WarioWare: Twisted! variant exists where the letters jump higher than normal, this was used for the souvenir of the same name as usual as it's unlockable when you completing all games in the Spindex.

FX/SFX: The letters appearing.

Music/Sounds: A harp-like sound when the text flies, and a "bling" sound in higher notes when the twinkle appears.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • A variant exists where the harp-like sound is replaced with a harp-additional notes, and the bling sound is heard like in the 1st logo. This was used for the Debug BIOS for a short time.
  • The special WarioWare: Twisted! variant had a sound of Wario driving his car in and crashing in, we hear Wario say "Yeah!" like in the WarioWare games.

Availability: Seen on a Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP. Also seen on Game Boy Advance games when played on the Wii U or 3DS's Virtual Console. Don't expect to see this on Game Boy Micro.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (September 14, 2001-Mid 2007)[]

Nicknames: "Stepping Cube", "The GameCube G"

Logo: Against a black background, a purple cube drops in the middle of the screen (causing a hexagon shape to flash briefly) and begins rolling around, forming a blocky purple "G" out of squares. When the cube finishes rolling, it spins around rapidly and lands in the center of the "G", causing it to shake a bit as the hexagon shape flashes again, and the cube's trail of squares solidifies into a solid line with a large cube in the center, and the words "GAMECUBE", in white, drop out from under it. The word "NINTENDO", in small gray letters, unfolds above it.

Variants:

  • On the bonus disc of Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, the cube rotates to its position before the letters fade in one by one. The FOV is slightly higher than normal, making the G look indigo. Several American commercials also used this.
  • On Wii platforms for when a GameCube disc is in the console, the logo is still, except for some lines in the background.
  • You can turn the cube around with A. Also, if you keep turning it, the hexagon shape will appear again and become brighter as the regular animation on it disappears, and the cube segues into the animation of the GameCube system menu.
  • If you turn on the GameCube with the cover open, or if you manage your memory card, you will see the completed logo before the "G" starts spinning around as the text moves down and fade away. This segues into the menu screen like before.

FX/SFX: The small cube rolling around.

Music/Sounds: It starts with a laser-esque sound when the purple cube drops down, followed by a series of xylophone notes and plucked string notes as the cube trail is formed, and a short drumroll/string chord when the cube lands in the center.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • If the console's cover is open, several synthesized "humming" sounds are heard as the menu forms.
  • Depending on how much you spin the cube around with A, some of the "humming" sounds that segue into the menu screen can be heard, which dim the regular logo's audio.
  • If you turn on the system with the "Z" button on the controller held down, different tunes play, which vary depending on how many people are holding the button down (if multiple controllers are plugged in). Here are the variants:
    • 1 controller: A series of squeaking vibraphone sounds ending with a "boing," comedic drum sound effects, and a child laughing.
    • 4 controllers: A Japanese yell followed by the beating of Japanese drums, which ends in a "ding".
  • On the Mario Kart: Double Dash!! bonus disc, a child's voice whispers "GameCube".

Availability: Seen when you turn on a Nintendo GameCube console, or if you launch a game through Nintendont on a hacked Wii console.

Editor's Note: This is a really well-remembered startup for those who have grown up playing the system. It's also one of the more "memed" logos on the wiki.

3rd Logo (November 21, 2004-2013)[]

DS:

  • November 21, 2004-2011: On a white background, we see the word "Nintendo" in Bank Gothic MD BT font next to a large "DS" with what looks like a little window in "DS". Some "O"s shoot out all over, and we fade out. When a cartridge is inserted, we see a blue (or black) Nintendo logo on the bottom.
  • May 15, 2006-2013: For the DS Lite, all that is added is the word "lite".

DSi:

  • November 1, 2008-2011: Same as the regular start up screen, but at the end of the animation, a little black circle containing an "i" in Tahoma font pops out.
  • 2010-2013: For the DSi XL, all that is added is the letters "XL".

FX/SFX: The logo flashing. The "i" popping out for the DSi.

Music/Sounds: For the DS, two echoing synth-piano notes whose echo seems to become a synth string note at the end. For the DSi, the standard DS start-up sound, followed by an additional synth note when the "i" appears.

Music/Sounds Variant: If you turn your console on when it's your birthday, the synth piano notes are replaced by a glockenspiel which echoes in the same fashion.

Availability: Common. Seen when you turn on a Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite console and a Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL console.

Editor's Note: None.

4th Logo (November 19, 2006-October 20, 2013)[]

Logo: On a white background, we see the word "Wii" in grey Wii Sans font. The blue circle and the grey rings appear one-by-one to actually kind-of-zoom out of it, then fade-in.

FX/SFX: The circles and the rings.

Music/Sounds: A synth piano tune.

Availability: Common. Seen when you turn on a Wii console.

Editor's Note: None.

5th Logo (February 26, 2011-September 17, 2020)[]

Logo: On a black background, we see the Nintendo 3DS logo in the same font as the Nintendo DS logo, but with a "3" added next to the word "DS".

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Common. Seen when you turn on a brand new 3DS for the first time. It's also seen on the Nintendo 2DS and Nintendo 3DS XL, with their respective logos replacing this one.

Editor's Note: None.

6th Logo (Alternative) (February 26, 2011-September 17, 2020)[]

Logo:

  • February 26, 2011-March 1, 2019: Same as the 1st logo, except red squares appear and then disappear on the upper left and lower right corners of the top screen and the words "Nintendo" and "DS" being pushed back and a red "3" being filled into the empty space between the words.
  • September 4, 2012-September 17, 2020: For the 3DS XL, all that is added is the "XL".

Variants:

  • On games not produced by Nintendo, the words "Licensed by Nintendo" appear on the bottom screen.
  • On games distributed by the company, "Distributed by Nintendo" is shown on the touchscreen.

FX/SFX: The red squares appearing and disappearing, the words being pushed back, the red "3" being filled in the empty space between the pushed back words.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Common. Seen when booting up a Nintendo 3DS game.

Editor's Note: None.

7th Logo (November 27, 2012-November 13, 2017)[]

Logo: This is the same as the Wii logo, but they added a line with the word "Mini" in grey.

FX/SFX: Same as the 4th logo.

Music/Sounds: Sam as the 4th logo.

Availability: Common. Seen when booting up a Wii Mini game.

Editor's Note: None.

8th Logo (November 18, 2012-January 31, 2017)[]

Logo: On a white background, we see the Wii logo. Next to it is a rounded blue square with a "U" cut out of it.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: On the GamePad, a synth piano tune can be heard.

Availability: Rare. Only seen while the Wii U is booting up.

Editor's Note: The logo is really boring and bland.

9th Logo (2016)[]

Logo: So here we see the NES Classic Edition logo.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: A short tune that is based on the Kaeloo theme.

Availability: Rare. Only seen while the NES Classic Edition is booting up.

Editor's Note: The logo is a little bitch mouth.

10th Logo (October 20, 2016-)[]

Nickname: "The Switch", "CLICK!"

Logo: On a red background, we see the words "NINTENDO SWITCH" stacked, like this:

N I N T E N D O

SWITCH

"SWITCH" is bigger in font size. We also see two Joy-Con beside each other. The left one is outlined, the right one is filled. Then, the right Joy-Con settles itself to be in line with the left one.

Variants:

  • When the console is turned on for the first time, the animation plays as normal, but after that the screen zooms into between the Joy-Cons as they split apart and the screen fades to white.
  • When the console is powered on from fully turning off, the logo is simply seen still, white on a black background.
  • When a game is started from the menu, a black screen is shown with the Nintendo logo in white in the top-left corner, and the Nintendo Switch logo in the bottom-right, except the Joy-Con are to the left of the console name. The right Joy-Con lifts up and falls down again, causing the letters of SWITCH to spin.

FX/SFX: The right Joy-Con moving, and the Joy-Con shaking a little.

Music/Sounds: A "click"/"snap" sound when the Joy-Con become aligned, mimicking the sound of the Joy-Con being connected to the console.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On the first time boot-up variant, a cheery tune plays, with a drumroll-like beat as the zoom occurs.
  • For the other variants, none.

Availability: Current. First appeared on the reveal trailer for the console, and when the console starts up and is loading games. Also seen on Switch game trailers and commercials.

Editor's Note: A favorite among Nintendo fans.
